ILLUMINATI AMSTERDAM
Illuminati AMS is a multi-talented, Amsterdam-based, formation made up of two producers, DeMikey and Jaziah, and performers Nianga Niang and Naleye Junior.
In terms of music production, Illuminati’s productions bridge the gap between diverse musical genres, creating a chameleon-like signature: “Wan gwan?!”
Since all of them additionally have a background in (high) fashion, their recent Gung Ho video-concept ooses ‘The Illuminati AMS Experience” magic throughout each video frame.
Be it expression through music, performance, style, art, photos, videos (or anything else they can get their hands on) one thing is certain: wherever they go, Illuminati AMS radiate a contagious energy that will turn their surroundings into a mystical experience. They are the enlightened ones, don’t forget!

Music Video + Styling: Cee-Lo Green’s “Falling” – Shot in Amsterdam
Cee-Lo Green’s new track ‘Falling’ is to be released any minute now, and guess what?! The video was made on Dutch-soil with an entire homebased crew! (We’re proud!) Shot by photographer/director Wouter Vandenbrink and styled by Sonny Groo, the video is a fast-paced chase scene filmed from the viewpoint of the pursued.
Inspired by music videos from the 80s and 90s (think Janet Jackson’s ‘Control’, the movie ‘The Warriors’ and Gregg Araki) the actors were actually cast based on their own exceptional sense of style, which Sonny Groo then adapted to visually fit the feel and look of the video.
The video is to be released this week, and will unveil the identity of who (or what) are chasing the stylishly black-clad men.

Music Video in-the-making by Ndekha / The Very Best
Fluctuating between Amsterdam, South Africa and Hong Kong, Johannesburg-born director MJ Turpin recently teamed up with the internationally recognized genre-defying Afro-Western formation The Very Best, to shoot the new video to their soon to be released single “Ndekha”.
The video, shot in the city of Johannesburg in a second hand clothing store, where funnily enough most of the (designer) clothing hails from Europe and is designated to ‘the poor of Africa’. The video is shot in a fast paced ‘documentary’-style as a day in the life of a couple slowly drifting apart. The track features a handful of international artists, including Mo Laudi, Thandiswa Mazwai, Moroka and Spoek Mathambo (recently featured on the cover of The Fader). The video is scheduled to be released by mid-July. We’ll keep you updated!
Styling “Put Your Gun Away” music video
Behind-the-scenes styling photographs for our new video: “Put Your Gun Away” – Rimer London & Cata.Pirata. This is our second single on Rimer London‘s recently released album, following our previous video Love Dagger.
The video was produced by Belgian production company Monodot, and directed by Amsterdam-based directors Ewoudt Boonstra and Piet Parra. Parra, internationally know for his fantabulous designs, created an array of animations which were projected on a panel, illustrating interactions between Rimer and Cata.Pirata. Robbie Baauw (Knuckle Duster Agency), in charge of styling the shoot, did an incredible job of putting together six high-end fashion looks. Loud, chic, fancy and colourful; where the brightness of the outfits create a stunning contrast within the minimalistic raw industrial setting. The video is to be released as a Summer single, so keep your eyes peeled and your hips shaking!
