For 9 days, Eindhoven stages more than eighteen hundred designers and three hundred events during the 11th edition of the Dutch Design Week (DDW). Interesting fashion high light is the sixth edition of the Modebelofte, showing tomorrow’s fashion promises. Curator Carlo Wijnands once again carefully selected twenty graduates of Dutch and Flemish academies.

The Graduation Show 2012 of the Design Academy Eindhoven is as always very inspiring with the work of 139 graduates. Don’t miss Noor de Keijzer with ‘My Knitted Boyfriend’, the very thought of it will make you laugh, Jody Kocken – also blogger for Modefabriek – with the solution for anyone who is allergic to perfume with her ‘Perfume Tools’ and Mickael Boulay, also winner of the BRAINS award 2012, who designed a set of cutlery that develops the motor skills of a handicapped hand, step by step.

You should definitely take the design route through downtown Eindhoven and enjoy a lunch at ‘De Smalle Haven’ or at ‘Eat & Drink Design’. Finally, have the DDW mini cooper shuttle service drop you off at Section C, breeding ground for young designers and collectives. Here you will find among others ‘De Intuïtiefabriek’ and the RCA Collective 2012, a group of designers from the Royal College of Art in London.
