MINT
MINT is a new event in Amsterdam, part of the established tradeshow Modefabriek. It combines tradeshow and event, fashion and lifestyle. MINT has a dream. A vision for the future of fashion: great style, made with respect for people and our environment. We call it forward fashion. We hope to inspire towards a fashion scene that is both happening and harmless.
MINT explicitly chose to become a part of Modefabriek in order to reach a wide fashion audience. We want to show the industry (retailers, journalists and other fashion influencers) the best of forward fashion. Modefabriek has been the key player in the Benelux’ fashion industry for the past decade. With over 660 brands on 40.000 m2, it attracts up to 20.000 visitors each season, the vast majority of which are buyers with decision-making authority.
We hope you’ll be a part of MINT too.

Forward view on Fashion
Forward fashion: made with respect for people and our environment, without any concession in style.
MINT aims to show that this is possible. We believe that fashion can be incredible (esthetics) yet credible (ethics). We expect brands that exhibit at MINT to share our dream, passion and commitment. That they are working on both social and environmental aspects in a structural, credible way, while creating great style.
We can promise to strive for the best, to be critical, transparent and true. But at the same time, we can’t promise to be 100% perfect, yet. For now, the general industry isn’t forward fashion-structured enough. But through our area at Modefabriek we hope to grow, to develop and to join forces towards bigger change.
MINT curates. We have chosen to do so, because we feel it’s the best way to get our forward fashion vision across. We aim to overcome the major predispositions about sustainable/fair/eco fashion: that it is less beautiful, and that it is unaffordable. There already is a lot of amazing forward fashion, which isn’t excessively expensive, yet is innovative, on-trend or modern classic. At the same time, we feel it is important to demonstrate that forward fashion isn’t limited to certain segments of fashion, and offer variety.
You can find a more in depth overview of these issues in the document: MINT our view of forward fashion (pdf). Each brand that becomes part of MINT is asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding these issues, which you can find here: MINT questionnaire (pdf: acrobat 8 or higher required).
