Finally! After almost 10 years of renovation, restoration and alteration the Rijksmuseum will be open again!

On Saturday 13 April 2013, the Rijksmuseum opens to the public with an entirely refreshed layout, fully renovated building, new public facilities, newly landscaped garden, and Rembrandt’s ‘The Night Watch’ returned to its original gallery. Overall, 80 halls will display 8,000 pieces of art and history, the completely renovated Rijksmuseum will tell the story of the Netherlands from the Middle Ages to the present.

Good to know: The Rijksmuseum will be the first major national museum in the world to be open to the public 365 days per year, daily from 9 am to 5 pm.
