PREVIEW ZOMEREDITIE 2014
Only seven more weeks until the next Modefabriek on 13 & 14 July at the Amsterdam RAI. After the resounding success of the last winter edition in which Modefabriek implemented the necessary updates and changes, the summer edition is guaranteed to be memorable!
‘More of the same’ has never sounded better: the new up-to-date segments and platforms, the sequel to the ‘Retail Future Home’ project, the collaboration with FashionWeek, the lectures, Food Court, networking and, above all, the extensive range of brands with lots of promising newcomers. A few highlights to look forward to:
Retail Future Home: THE PHILOSOPHY OF HOME GROWN
The Retail Future Home project introduced during the last winter edition, a collaboration between STUDIO by judith ter haar and Modefabriek, is more than worthy of a repeat. The interactive exhibition with workshops, lectures, visualisations, taste experiences and a market for collecting all your favourite products informs visitors about the deeper developments taking place in retail in a penetrating way. The following are among those working on ‘The Philosophy of Home Grown’ during this summer edition: artist Claudy Jongstra, who dyes the wool of her own sheep using home-grown plants, designer Mark van Vorstenbos from the innovative knitwear label Youasme Measyou, and Dynamic Foodshowroom from Arnhem. Plenty of inspiration to go around!
NEXT talent and FashionWeek
Every season, Modefabriek introduces and hosts a selection of highly promising ‘young’ designer labels. Thanks to the collaboration with Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam, this platform has become even more effective, with more visitors and more interaction. The eight participating talents are still a secret, but the ‘10 days of downtown’ programme for Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam has already been announced: Saturday, 12 July, NEXT talent from Modefabriek will be presented with a special exhibition at SPRMRKT.
Permanent fixture: staying up-to-date and networking
A visit to Modefabriek is the perfect recipe for staying up-to-date. The lecture programme, with its long list of experts in the areas of trends, marketing, offline/online retail and media, is a permanent fixture of the event. A new addition to the programme is the trend presentation of Jan Trendman, in collaboration with media partner Textilia.
Dynamic entrepreneurship calls for active networking. That is why the EU FashionMatch, a collaboration with Enterprise Europe Network, is also getting a sequel. Registration required! See http://www.b2match.eu/fashionmatch-2ndedition
