During the last winter edition, the interactive project Retail Future Home was introduced at Modefabriek. The Retail Future Home project is a special collaboration by Modefabriek and STUDIO by judith ter haar. The product of this unique partnership consists of an interactive installation that allows visitors to experience and share new visions on a wide range of aspects of retail and fashion.

As summer is reaching us, it is time to harvest our inspirational seeds. In this summer edition titled ‘The Philosophy of Home Grown’ we will celebrate the themes ‘SOURCE & GROW’, ‘CRAFT & CURATE’, ‘EAT & FEEL’, ‘WORK & SHARE’ and ‘TRADE & COLLECT’. These themes represent the life cycle of retail and products, from source to customer. A cycle, that requires a true understanding of tradition, craftsmanship and growing from the local identity.

The interactive exhibition in the connecting hall will visualise and inform about current retail trends and an intensive program with inspiring dialogues, presentations and workshops will take place, including embroidery with designer Desirée Hammen, trained at the famous École Lesage in Paris. Designer Mark van Vorstenbos from the knitwear label ‘Youasme Measyou’ will present knitwear pieces in an innovative visualisation and at the Retail Future Home market – with a special curated collection – visitors can collect all their favourite products.
Food plays again an important role within the concept, as both connector and direct indicator of new trends. Dynamic Foodshowroom from Arnhem will entice visitors with a taste experience using ingredients from a garden that will be designed for this edition.

The highlight of this edition will be the trend room, which will be all about colour. Inspired by the seasons of the garden and nature, this room will bring buyers and stylists an impressive colour inspiration.
