The Modefabriek Must sees are our chance to keep you updated on the latest inspiring developments within the fashion community. This week’s Modefabriek Must see is the upcoming exhibition 'Long Live Fashion!', in The TextielMuseum Tilburg.

'The corona pandemic has turned the world upside down and has further exposed the problems of the polluting fashion industry. Prolonged lockdowns led to warehouses full of unsaleable stocks', this sounds like a sad announcement of an exhibition, but the opposite is true. With 'Long Live Fashion!', the TextielMuseum presents an inviting solution and wants to stimulate the public in an interactive way to use clothing in a more sustainable way.

The sustainable couture of Ronald van der Kemp and the streetwear of Duran Lantink already give a first glimpse on how things can also be done; sustainable fashion designs that stimulate and encourage wearing. In addition, a dozen other national and international fashion designers have been invited to show their sustainable collection. That is not all: the visitors can discover how textiles are reused in the exhibition rooms, they can get started with repair and upcycle techniques or recreate a fashion item by Christien Meindertsma from recycled textiles. Don’t miss this. Long Live Fashion!

'Long Live Fashion!' runs from 25th of September 2021 - 27th of March 2022 in The TextielMuseum in Tilburg.
