FASHION FRICTION
JAN AGELINK – BURO JANTRENDMAN
Fashion needs friction again – the kind of tension that wakes you up instead of smoothing everything over. When everything becomes too polished, too optimized, too predictable, we lose the feeling that clothes can surprise us, move us, or bring us closer together. Fashion Friction explores why imperfect combinations, clashing materials and unexpected pairings matter now. Friction pulls fashion out of autopilot and back into the world of touch, instinct and real human connection. It’s not about chaos; it’s about energy – the spark that makes style feel alive again.
We’ll look at how fashion — and the communities around it — are shifting into a new mode of survival, recovery and adaptability.

TASTING THE FUTURE
LIDEWIJ EDELKOORT – TREND FORECASTER
Tasting the Future: Colour, Craft & the Flavours of Global Design for Spring/Summer 2027.
This talk explores how food, colour, fashion, and contemporary craft come together to shape a vibrant design future for Spring/Summer 2027. It begins with a “cookbook” approach to colour, using global ingredients and sensory memories to create emotional palettes that energize fashion, textiles, and lifestyle design.
It then examines how food inspires fashion itself—from fabric choices and dye innovations to pattern, proportion, and the power of taste. The culinary world’s spirit of transformation, heritage, and generosity offers fashion a model for constant reinvention.
The talk concludes in the Global South, spotlighting makers whose contemporary craft forms an activist counterculture that re-centres the handmade. Their work shapes a future where diversity, integrity, and human creativity take precedence in design.
